In regards of all our new development projects, Quantoom Biosciences need to increase his working force within our Engineering department. We have just released a challenging position as Engineering Technical Lead, based in Belgium - Nivelles at our Quantoom Biosciences Headquarter.
MISSION:
As Engineering Technical Lead, you will provide technical leadership in project and throughout the entire life cycle of designated products or systems intended to support and enable mass production of xRNA based vaccines and therapeutics. In this important role within our Engineering department, you will interact with many internal and external different stakeholders, helping the company to continue the development of our current and new products to come.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Life Cycle:
Is accountable for all technical matters pertaining to designated projects, products or systems throughout the entire project and product life cycle, including, but not limited to, ideation, design and development (including design verification/qualification), sustainable production, delivery, installation, qualification, operation, service or end-of-life.
Acts as single (or at least initial) point of contact for other departments with regards to questions or requests pertaining to designated projects, products or systems.
Is responsible for the identification, definition, prioritization, organization, delegation and completion of all engineering activities pertaining to designated projects, products or systems, within given constraints of time, quality and cost.
Anticipates resources needed (e.g. staff, material, infrastructure) to perform activities and deliver results within scope of responsibilities and communicate timely to project and/or resources managers.
QA & Good Engineering Practices:
Ensures work on the product/project by Engineering staff is performed according to plans and in compliance with applicable regulations, QMS procedures and Good Engineering Practice.
Participates in the improvement of procedures relevant to the discipline and of their related systems, tools or instructions.
Innovation & I.P.
Keeps up on innovation in relevant domains, participate in technology scouting and assessments,
Identifies inventions, documents inventions disclosure and supports patents registration,
Supports analysis of patents in scope of FTO analyses or litigations as needed.
Others:
- Assess (prospective) customer needs and requirements in scope of business development and pre-sales processes, performs gap analyses and supports estimation of project effort/cost/time as needed.
Promotes efficient and effective teamwork.
Provides clear project/product related objectives to Engineering staff.
Ensures good communication between Engineering staff and with other project staff.
Provides technical and behavioral coaching to Engineering staff.
Identifies and communicates needs for development of the Engineering department competences.
Identifies and communicates needs for the development of the Engineering department capacity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree or equivalent acquired by experience in Engineering (Electromechanics, Chemistry, Physics, Bioengineering) or Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biomedical)
- At least 5 years as project or development engineer in the development of industrial or laboratory equipment, or as subject matter expert in a relevant field.
At least 2 years in a leadership/coordination/management role of a small engineering/development team. Leadership: accountability, integrity, organizational agility, planning, communication, active listening, influencing, motivating people.
Technical:
Proficient in the application of systems engineering methodologies and good engineering practices and capable of acting as a coach to engineering staff,
Advanced level of knowledge and experience in at least one of the key disciplines/technologies listed below,
Basic level of knowledge and experience with at least all of the following key disciplines/technologies listed below,
Advanced level of knowledge of the relevant regulatory and normative landscape (EU and US).
Key disciplines and technologies:
mRNA production processes,
Fluid dispensing and single use technologies,
Automation technologies (controllers, sensors and actuators),
Design and manufacturing of machinery (mechanical and electrical engineering).
Language: fluent in English (written and spoken), French is an asset.
